When I was working with 9 clients (that’s not a typo, I legit had 9 clients)...

I lost ⅔ of my clients in one fell swoop.

One day everything was “fine,” and the next day I was overwhelmed by nausea, feeling the weight of a bowling ball inside my gut, too stressed out to sleep, and flooded with feelings of regret and guilt.

How could I have gotten it so wrong?

As if it couldn’t get any worse, I didn’t even know how to rebuild.

I had zero systems in place so my pipeline was emptier than a church on Thursday.

Referrals were out of the question because I hadn’t even been serving my remaining clients very well.

And I didn’t even really know what services I wanted to provide or who I wanted to help.

Some people would give up at that point, but like you, I was determined to make this freelancing thing work.

I couldn’t stand the thought of ditching my dream of being my own boss, keeping my kids (now there were two of them!) in daycare forever, and becoming an overstressed workaholic barely getting by.

I couldn’t make the same sacrifices I made the first time (which I now know were more than sacrifices, they were mistakes)...

Because I was living proof that they didn’t produce the results I wanted.

I wanted to work less, not more.

I wanted to have a couple dream clients, not a million nightmare clients.

And I wanted to actually do a good job and get them amazing results too, not fall short and provide the bare minimum.

So I started by giving myself some grace… (I’m pausing here to give you permission to do the same)...

And then I buckled down, invested in a coach, and decided I was going to make this freelancing thing work.

I discovered a niche that I loved and realized that everyone who says, “The riches are in the niches” was 100% right.

I built authority through content marketing – and I leveraged my time by repurposing my own content.

And I discovered the secrets to keeping my pipeline full of hungry dream clients ready to hire me no matter the cost.

And now my students use the exact same tools, resources, and frameworks I discovered and created to build a more sustainable freelancing business for themselves.
